Hot water is the utility nobody thinks about until it is gone, usually on a weekday morning with a house full of people. We install and service tank, tankless and heat pump water heaters across Greater Kamloops, and because our technicians are Class B gas fitters the gas connection and the venting are part of the same job rather than a second trade on a different day.
Tank Water Heaters
A conventional tank is still the simplest answer for most homes, and a straight replacement is usually a same day job. We stock and install gas and electric tanks in the common sizes, size the tank to how the household actually uses hot water, and take the old unit away. Kamloops water is hard on an anode rod, so we will tell you what to expect from the one you are buying.

Tankless and Combi
A tankless unit heats water as it flows, so it never runs out and it frees up the floor space a tank was using. A combi does the same job and heats the house as well. Both need the gas supply and the venting to be right, and both need a house whose plumbing suits them, which is why we look at the mechanical room before quoting rather than after.
Heat Pump Water Heaters
A heat pump water heater pulls heat from the air around it rather than making it from scratch, which is why it uses a fraction of the electricity a standard element does. It needs enough space and air around it to work properly, and it slightly cools the room it sits in, which is a bonus in a utility room and a consideration elsewhere. These units often carry the strongest rebate of anything we install.

Repair or Replace
Lukewarm water, a pilot that will not stay lit, rust in the hot tap, banging from the tank or water on the floor all mean something specific. Some of it is a part, some of it is the end of the tank. We will tell you which, and if the tank is leaking we will treat it as urgent, because a failed tank does not wait politely.
