Gas work is not a place for a handyman. Our technicians are Class B gas fitters certified by Technical Safety BC, and every line we run is sized, pressure tested and permitted the way it should be. We add gas for ranges, dryers, fireplaces, barbecues, garage heaters, pool heaters and shop equipment across Greater Kamloops, and we find and repair leaks on lines somebody else installed.
New Gas Lines
Running a new line is more than pipe on a wall. The line has to be sized for the appliance load at the far end and for everything already on the system, then routed, supported, tested and left accessible. We plan the run first, tell you what it will take to reach the deck or the garage or the shop, and put it in writing before the work starts.

Appliance Hookups
A new range, a fireplace insert, a water heater or a garage heater all need the connection done properly and the venting checked, not only the gas hooked up. We commission the appliance, confirm it is drawing and venting the way the manufacturer expects, and leave the shutoff where somebody can actually reach it.
Leak Detection and Repair
If you smell gas, leave the building and call FortisBC from outside before anything else. Once the immediate risk is handled, we locate the fault, repair the line and pressure test it before anything is turned back on. We also get calls about a smell that turns out to be something else entirely, and that is a call worth making either way.

Permits and Safety
Gas work in British Columbia is permitted work, and unpermitted work has a way of surfacing at the worst moment, usually during a sale or an insurance claim. We pull the permit, do the job to code and leave you with the paperwork. If you have inherited work you are unsure about, we can inspect it and tell you plainly where it stands.
